Routing a power cable from the battery

Not really an issue, just a question..
How safe is it to route a cable for my heated jacket liner directly from inside the battery box? Is it possible at all?

It's absolutely possible to route it but you need a few safety considerations like using a fused harness to protect against shorts, proper cable routing making sure that the cable is exiting the battery box without being pinched or rubbing against sharp edges. Make sure to also use zip ties to secure the cable and make sure that the gear connectors are away from any moisture.

Thanks for the info, that surely helps! Just to clarify though, when you say "fused harness," do you mean an inline fuse close to the battery, or something more specific?

It's possible if you use a proper grommet or rubber pass through to protect the wire from chafing on sharp edges. Make sure the cable isn't exposed to battery acid or extreme heat, and secure it so it doesn't move around and yeah an inline fuse near the battery is what he meant. It protects your jacket's wiring by cutting power if there's a short or overload

What amp rating do you usually go with for jacket wiring? And is there a best spot to mount it so it's easy to check but still safe from water or dirt? Thanks got a Classic 350 and this helps a lot
