Bigger Himalayan? tell me I'm not dreaming

I was out riding my 411 the other day, loving the simplicity and charm as usual, until I got caught behind a truck on the highway and thought, dang, I could use a bit more grunt. Now, hear me out, what if royal enfield dropped a bigger Himalayan? I'm talking 650 twin power, same rugged styling, maybe a little extra fuel capacity and a touch more road presence. Not trying to turn it into a GS clone, just imagining the same spirit with a little more muscle. Anyone else secretly wishing for a Himalayan that can cruise at 80 without sounding like it's giving its last breath? or am I just being greedy?

You're not dreaming and certainly not alone, man! Rumors about Himalayan 650 have been catching on with spy shots suggesting it's getting closer to reality. No official word yet but if it launches soon, this could be the upgrade we've been hoping for. @The_mayor

Hey, you're definitely not being greedy,I've had the same thought on my end too. I really dig the character of the bike,but how about a 650 twin Himalayan that keeps that tough look while adding a touch more comfort for long rides? That sounds perfect. Let's keep things simple,but with a bit more power. And honestly,a little extra fuel range would be great too. So RE if you're out there… we're all set for this

That's the big question on everyone's mind. Given how they price the Interceptor 650, I imagine it will be very competitive. A bit more for the upgraded suspension and adventure-ready frame would be expected though. @ChipsRanchDip

I rose the new Himalyan last year in India and although it has more grunt and tours easier than thenold 411, it has I feel changed the very nature of the bike. The 411 is nippy turns on a tickey and very very agile and controable in tight spaces like on himalayan roads. It also handles dirt and bad roads well. The nee on the weigh is wrong I felt I was continously fighting the bike to get it to go where it had too. Also its top heavy meaning that nimbleness is gone. Lastly and I know the old 411 ones also went EFI, etc but the new one is like any modern day car with electronics that fail. And in India only RE has spares or can diagnose these kinds of faults I had to struggle with a limp bike for 90km before I got to a large RE workshop where we had to wait 5 hrs for a spare electronic switch that regulated fuel flow. So yes give me an old Carb version of the 411 and I am a happy man.

Completely get where you’re coming from. A 650 twin Himalayan sounds awesome on paper as it's got more power, better highway cruising, and a little extra fuel range. But I’ve got to agree with @Sunchaser. The heavier modern versions can lose that nimble, go-anywhere feel the 411 had, and relying on electronics means more headaches if something goes wrong on the road. Sometimes simpler really is better, especially if you’re riding remote trails.
